About the Shippen
Originally part of a small holding, The Shippen has been carefully renovated and converted into self-catering holiday accommodation for up to four guests by the current owners, Paul and Jeannie. It is situated in the beautiful Linley Valley in and AONB on the Shropshire Way, adjacent to the owners’ home though not overlooked. There is parking right outside the main door, a veranda and access to the garden. The property itself is all on one level and has been designed to be as accessible as possible, within the existing limitations of the site.

Arrival and car parking facilities
There is parking for up to two cars on the driveway directly outside the main door of The Shippen. The driveway is gravel and The Shippen is approached across approximately 2 metres of level paving from the drive.

Heating and Hot water
Central heating is provided by a very efficient Worcester Bosch oil boiler installed in 2016 and controlled by a thermostat in The Shippen. Hot water is on-demand. There is also a Clearview wood burning stove; kindling and logs are supplied as part of every booking.

Main entrance
The threshold into the building is flat save a draft exclusion strip and recessed, fitted doormat. The main entrance leads directly into the open-plan space with sleeping, dining and living area and a chest of drawers to the left of the entrance. All windows have roman blinds with interlining and black out lining. All furniture is movable.

There is flat oak flooring throughout the building, with a flat, tiled floor in the wet room with disabled WC.

Sleeping Area
There is a king size bed with a height to the top of the mattress of 57cm. There are two bedside chest of drawers with bedside lights and a floor length mirror. The duvet and pillows are feather and the bed linen is cotton. There is a three seater sofa with loose covers and a glazed gable end with interlined black out curtains. Full height double doors provide access to the veranda outside.

Living Area
There is a large corner sofa, coffee table and upholstered double sofa bed. There is also a side board with TV/Playstation, guidebooks, maps remote controls and occasional lamps. There is free WiFi broadband for internet access.

Kitchen Area
There is a modern, self-contained, fitted kitchen with 90 cm high base units and wall cupboards above. There is a built-in electric oven with drop down door and flush glass halogen hob above and a fridge to the right of the oven. There is a free standing microwave and Berkey water filter on the kitchen windowsill and a toaster, kettle and tea/coffee making facilities on the breakfast bar.

Shower room with WC
There is an open wet room style shower area, WC and washbasin with underfloor heating and recessed halogen lighting. Window with roller blind above the washbasin and a mirror on the window sill. Tiled floor.

The Shippen has its own south-facing veranda which joins onto the accommodation and is at the same level. There is a round wooden dining table with two chairs and a Barbeque on the veranda. Guests are also welcome to use the garden directly below the veranda where there is a brick paved circular dining area with a round wooden dining table with four chairs and a parasol. There are five wide steps down to the garden. General waste and recycling wheelie bins are located behind The Shippen.
